Laura Mercier Lovers Illumination Collection.
Laura Mercier is one of those brands that everybody loves, but that I hadn't tried before. Last week, I felt kinda down, and what's a better cure than ordering new makeup? Yes, I know. I opened my Internet browser, and stumbled upon the new Laura Mercier collection, to die for! The packaging and the colors seemed right up my alley, so I had to try some products out. This collection consists of 4 powder highlighters and 4 lipsticks. De lipsticks range from a neutral color to 3 deeper shades. Most of the higlighters have a golden undertone, one of them has a pinky undertone, so there is something for everyone.
I chose the Velour Lovers Lip Color in Seduction, which is a beautiful dark red-purple color, and the Face Illuminator in Indiscretion, a light golden color with a beautiful, subtle shimmer.

I applied the higlighter on the tops of my cheekbones and on my eyelids. It provides a gorgeous, subtle shine & shimmer, and since I'm used to the The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer, it's a nice change for those more neutral days.
The lipstick is everything I ever wished for in a lipstick. It's a beautiful dark red-purple color and it has my favorite finish: a matte finish. I'd say it sits between a matte and a satin, but certainly has the longevity of a matte lip color. The bullet is also quite narrow, so you can work quite precisely and you don't really need a separate lip brush to apply it.
The prices of these products are €29 for the lipstick and €42 for the highlighter, but it's so worth it! The products do live up to my expectations and I certainly don't regret buying them. I also noticed Laure Mercier brings out these types of lipsticks multiple times, so if you ever see them, be sure to swatch them and well.... by them. You won't regret it!
