Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquids.
Even though it seems like every brand has brought out his version of a liquid lipstick, there are some brand that come up with different variations of this product. An example of such a brand is Maybelline. They recently brought out their Vivid Matte Liquids. Since I've heard a lot of different opinions on this product, I decided to put it to the test myself, wanna have a read?
The packaging is what we're used to the last couple of years: quite simple & slick & to-the-point, just how I like it. Although the packaging isn't like super-special, the applicator did catch my attention: it's almost completely flat and it has a little indent so it "adapts" perfectly to the shape of your lips and makes applying the product a lot easier! Nicely done, Maybelline!
Let's have a closer look at the colors I picked up!
My lips without any product on them:
Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid in 05 Nude Flush.
Since I'm not really a fan of super-nude lips, I decided to pick up the lightest pink color. Now, I say lightest, but it has a definite barbie-pink undertone, which I hadn't expected by looking at the packaging. I do really like the colour however as it really brightens up my complexion and this color applied very nicely as well.
Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid in 30 Fuchsia Exstasy.
Who remembers the time when I just wore red lipstick and I absolutely hated bright pink lipsticks on me? Well,... that might have changed. I absolutely love this color as it's super bright, super pigmented and applies like a dream. BAM!
Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid in 25 Orange Shot.
I've always loved orange lipsticks, and this one is no exception. Some people might think they can only pull this off in the summer, but I actually think it looks gorgeous in fall as well with a more pale complexion. To be honest, I think this colour would look bomb on everyone. And although I'm a big fan of this color, it did apply a little more streaky than the other colors I've tried. It works, but you just have to be a little more patient when applying.
The conclusion. Vivid? 100%. Matte? Hmm. When you apply these products, they look vèry shine and they look like they will never dry down, but they actually do after 15 minutes or so. I don't think that's a problem with the lighter shade, but it makes me kinda nervous when wearing the brighter shades, as I will probably smear them all over my face when I'm not paying attention. What I do love about this collection is that there is a shade for everyone, so you will always be able to find a color that suits your taste!
Would I recommend these products? Yes, I would. They are quite cheap and they apply decently. If you pick up a shade, pick Fuchsia Ectasy, I love that one!
Have you tried these out? Let me know in the comments down below!
